1600/043/2541 July 15, 1998 The Stock Exchange of Thailand 62, Ratchadapisek Road, Klongtoey Bangkok 10110 Attention : President of The Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject : The Resignation of the Chairman of BCP The Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited (BCP) wish to announce the resignation of Dr. Aran Thammano as the chairman of BCP with effect from this date. Traditionally, a retired official of the Ministry of Finance will not take the position of the chairman in a state enterprise under the Finance Ministry, unless done so under certain necessities. As it happened, the former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and the Minister of Finance has requested Dr. Aran to assist BCP in its endeavour to put into practice the model of + self sufficient economy in the rural community, a project which is to be undertaken jointly between BCP and the Mongkol Chaipattana Company Limited. At present, the model of +self sufficient economy" has been successfully implemented with the operating of the Lemon Farm shop, which sells community products produced by the various rural communities. Consequently, the Ministry of Finance has proposed the appointment of Mr. Vuthichai Pongprasit, the Inspector-General of the Ministry of Finance, as the new chairman of BCP.
