1600/036/2541 June 3, 1998 The Stock Exchange of Thailand 7th Floor, Sindhorn Tower 1 132 Wireless Road Bangkok 10330 Attention : President of the Listing Department Subject : Bangchak has signed a US$150 million syndicated loan agreement Dear sir , The Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited would like to report that Bangchak has successfully completed a US$150 million, approximately Baht 6,000 million syndicated loan agreement. The signing ceremony was held in Hong Kong on June 1, 1998, attended by Mr. Sommai Phasee on behalf of Thai Ministry of Finance as the guarantor, Mr. Vudichai Neeranartvong Senior Executive Vice President of Bangchak Petroleum Plc., and representative of the 24 international banks supporting the transaction. Coordinating arrangers of this loan facility are ABN AMRO Bank N.V., BA Asia Limited, The Bank of Nova Scotia Limited, Barclays Capital, Standard Chartered Bank and Sumitomo Bank. The lending term is for one year at LIBOR+0.90% in exclusion of the arranging expenses. The transaction is a highly successful one as it attracted subsciptions of US$220 million, representing a 45% over subscription. The proceeds will be used to substitute for Thai Baht working capital in financing company+s import. Besides, this foreign currency loan will be beneficial to the liquidity in Thailand during this period.
