TRANSLATION 1000 /195 / 2004 September 16, 2004 The Stock Exchange of Thailand 62, Ratchadapisek Road, Klongtoey Bangkok 10110 Subject : Temporary shut down of Catalytic Reforming Unit for maintenance Attention : President of The Stock Exchange of Thailand Since the Company found that there was an equipment failure in Catalytic Reforming Unit on 16th September 2004, which produces the component oil of gasoline, the Company would temporarily shut down such unit for maintenance by replacing the malfunction equipment with the spare equipment. The Company expects to use time for replacing such damaged part for approximately 10 days, which results to the reduction of refining capacity utilization by approximately 25% from target during such installation period. However, the Company expects that sale volumes will not be affected from such reduction of refining capacity utilization, since the Company will draw down oil product inventories for sales and will build up stock to compensate such usage after the complete of installation of spare part. In addition, the Company will reinstall the repaired spare part at the next major annual turnaround. Please be informed accordingly.
