1600 / 046 / 2002 April 26 , 2002 The Stock Exchange of Thailand 62, Ratchadapisek Road, Klongtoey Bangkok 10110 Attention : President of The Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject : Filing Unreviewed and Unaudited Financial Statements and Reasons for the Variation in Business Operations in accordance with the Profit and Loss Account more than 20 percent from That of the Same Period of 2001: According to that the Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited (BCP) informed cancellation of filing unreviewed and unaudited financial statements since the period ending March 31, 2002 onwards, as there are a lot of news about the Company financial status and performance; The Company, therefore, has considered that it is necessary to file the above financial statements in order to ensure the actual information for the investors and to prevent the rumor or other information not given by the company especially the information relating to the Company's financial projection. The Company shall file the above financial statements since the period ending March 31, 2002 onwards. Furthermore, the Reasons for the Variation in Business Operations in accordance with the Profit and Loss Account more than 20 percent from that of the Same Period of 2001, the Company would like to inform that the first quarter Company's total sales are BHT. 11,469 million and the net profit is BHT. 307 million, higher than the same quarter of 2001 BHT 1,216 million (the 2001 first quarter's net loss is BHT. 909) according to the following factors : 1. The refinery and marketing margin has increased comparing to the same period of 2001. 2. The Company enable to reduce the production cost and other expenses by 20% comparing to the same period of 2001. 3. The Company has implemented business synergy that increases the Company's margin and reduces expenses. 4. The Company's net profit increases according from the inventory gained.
