Attention : The President of The Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject : Filing of the Auditors Report and the Financial Statement for the 3rd Quarter, 1998 According to the Stock Exchange of Thailand's regulations related to rules, conditions and procedures for the reporting of financial status and business operation results of listed companies; a listed company is required to file a Financial Statement, which have been reviewed by the auditors, within 45 days following the end of each quarter. In compliance with this regulation, The Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited would like to submit, herewith, its Financial Statement and the Auditors Report for the 3rd Quarter ended September 30, 1998. As for the past nine months of 1998, the Oil Demand Growth in the country decreased about 8% but the Company's marketing business maintained its normal position. Total Sales in retail market was at the same level with 1997. In the refining business, the results were affected by the oil stock, as the world oil price dropped significantly. For the 3rd Quarter 1998, the Company's financial results posted a total revenue of Baht 8,159 million and a profit before tax of Baht 133 million. The company's total revenue for the first nine months of 1998 was Baht 27,246 million and the profit before tax of Baht 298 million. As for the Company's financial status as of the 3rd Quarter ended 1998, it has total assets of Baht 29,929 million, total liabilities of Baht 19,619 million, and the shareholders equity of Baht 10,309 million. Besides this, the Company's liquidity, in terms of cash on hand and at bank and short-term investment, was Baht 10,309 million, and the Debt to Equity Ratio was 1.9. Please be informed accordingly.
