TAKES PART IN VENTURE RUNNING HYPER-MARKET
The Bangchak Petroleum Plc (BCP) reached the agreement to jointly
invest in "Hyper-market business" with Samu-Auchan S.A. Co., from France,
and S&P Co. Group--Tantrapan the operator of Auchan Chiang Mai Co., Ltd.
The new venture under the trandmark "Auchan Hyper-market" would become the
distributor of comsumer goods at Chiang Mai province with preliminary
investments at Bt1.340 billion. At present, the complex on 12,000-square-
metre area is being constructed expected to start the operation by the
end of this year(1997). For the holding proportion BCP is holding 10%
stake in Auchan Chiang Mai Co., Ltd., S&P Co. Group holding 30%, Samu-
Auchang S.A. 49% and others holding 11%
