Subject : Notification on the Shutdown of HCU of the Refinery
Attention : President of The Stock Exchange of Thailand
The Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited (the "Company") would like to
inform that the Hydrocracking Unit, a part of the Product Quality Improvement
Project (PQI), was shutdown to repair the pumping and valves' control system,
damaged during the commissioning process on May 21, 2009.
The PQI project is still under the EPC contractor's responsibility as the
project has not yet being handed over to the Company. Also, the project is
well covered by Construction All Risks and Delay in Start-up Insurance.
However, This shutdown will not impact on the Company's retail market sales as
the refinery is still operating in normal. If there is any progression, the
Company will immediately report to the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
